Proposition 8

Build-up

PFLAG National's research and polling among California voters has revealed a 40/40/20 split. That is,

40% of voters have already decided to vote No.
40% of voters have already decided to vote Yes, and nothing anybody does will change their minds.
20% are undecided or persuadable (the "moveable middle").

Those 20% consider themselves to be fair and rational. They believe people should be treated equally. Discussions about Proposition 8 will have the effect we want if we appeal to their senses of equality and fairness. If we accuse them of negative qualities and attitudes, we will insult them and push them the other direction.
